# Homemade Fried Rice


Fried rice is a quick and easy meal that's perfect for using up leftover rice and whatever vegetables you have on hand. Here's a simple recipe for delicious homemade fried rice:


Ingredients:

- 2 cups cooked rice, chilled (white or brown rice work well)

- 2 tbsp vegetable oil

- 1 egg, beaten

- 1/2 cup diced onion

- 1/2 cup diced carrots

- 1/2 cup frozen peas

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 2 tbsp soy sauce

- Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.

2. Add the beaten egg and swirl it around to form a thin omelet. Remove the egg from the pan and set aside.

3. Add the onions, carrots, and garlic to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.

4. Add the cooked rice and peas. Stir to combine and heat through, about 5 minutes.

5. Slice the egg omelet into thin strips and add it back to the fried rice.

6. Drizzle the soy sauce over the rice and stir to coat everything evenly.

7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
